In my landscapes I try to show a sense of peaceful solitude. They are not about people or things, rather quiet space and time.

High Cloud Sailing High Cloud Sailing

My influences come from the American Impressionists i.e. Winslow Homer, Whistler, Sargent, The Connecticut Eight. John Henry Twachtman

Modern Day influences would be Donald Demers, Anne Packard, Phillip Malicote, and Joseph McGurl.

It's all about the light, and how one sees his or her personnel environment!

I use landscape not to record every grass rock or wave but rather as a vehicle to create an emotional feeling.

I retired from teaching in 2007. I now spend my time painting and making custom fine art frames at the Cape Gallery Framer in Falmouth, MA.

Ken lives in Sandwich MA with his wife Leslie

I try to keep my paintings very simple. I want you to be able to walk into one of my paintings, feel a peaceful solitude, stay awhile, and if it is not happening simply move on..I want my viewers to experience a positve moment We live in a very fast world of things and events and every once in awhile some quiet time is good!
